FORTES Signs Memorandum with Odesa Region

On July 16, 2026, an online meeting took place between representatives of Latvia and the Odesa region of Ukraine, focused on energy and investment cooperation. The Latvian side was represented by Latvia's Ambassador to Ukraine Andrejs Pildegovics, Special Envoy for Ukraine's Recovery Juris Poikāns, Head of LIAA's representation in Ukraine Galina Bukovska, and FORTES Chairman of the Board Armands Zemītis.

The main objective of the meeting was to explore how Latvian companies can contribute to strengthening energy resilience in the Odesa region. Discussions focused on the implementation of cogeneration technology, enabling simultaneous production of electricity and heat - supporting energy independence and operational continuity for local businesses. A salt production facility in the Odesa region was identified as one of the priority sites.

During the meeting, the Odesa side signed a memorandum of cooperation. The partners agreed on next steps - technical data assessment, selection of priority sites, and implementation of projects in the near future.
